I agree, a PHEV option would make sense.
This should be more common everywhere. It’s puzzling that no PHEV options exist for truck buyers in the US.

If you think the Telluride is inefficient, imagine a Suburban.
The new Suburban diesel is really efficient, getting over 30 mpg.

But diesel and turbo have their own issues unfortunately.

It’s a great car if you just have two kids. But with more than two, it might be time to switch to a minivan or larger SUV.

We have a Pacifica Hybrid, and I really like it. I used to have a Prius, but we got into a situation where my wife’s car went into the shop, and we couldn’t go anywhere with a family of six in a car meant for five. So I got the Kia, and it’s been great as a backup family car for everyone and for hauling things when the kids are in school.
Had I known about a surprise fifth child, I would have gone for a full-size.

After having multiple Pacificas, I got a Telluride for our family of 6. It works fine for us. We use a Yakima box for luggage on family trips. I like it much more than the Pacifica.
@Devi
Adding some external storage is a great idea! I considered getting a roof box for long trips.
@Bevan
A fifth kid out of nowhere? Lol
It probably happened from sitting on the toilet seat, haha.

Good point, lol.

The Kia Carnival makes more sense as a family vehicle than a full-size SUV. I have a similar SUV but I’m considering making the switch to a minivan. Minivans offer the most space and are easier for kids to get in and out.
I love my car but not the payment. Just being honest, lol.
Honestly, if you love your car, the most important thing is how good your dealer and service department are. When problems come up, are they helpful and do they fix issues quickly? If you wait a long time, do they give you a loaner car? These things will really improve your experience when the vehicle isn’t perfect.
@Dylan
I came here to say this. I have a 22 SXP and would never buy another. My dealer is awful. I’ve needed repairs on minor issues, and they just shrug and walk away.
I regret my Telluride for sure. We decided to never get another Kia.

What are some things you dislike? What made you feel that way?

First off, the recalls are really inconvenient. I’ve had three on my VIN in 9 months. The lane assist and cruise control almost caused me three serious accidents. My front sensors don’t work, so I get an alert every time I drive. The exterior trims have fallen off twice, and I have a seal coming undone on my rear window. I don’t feel safe in this car anymore, which is disappointing.
@Devin
Is this a 2024 model?
