Do you regret getting a Telluride

The sound system is amazing. Do you have the base model?

It’s the 2023 X-Line, the top model but not the X-Pro. The Harman Kardon system sounded great when we bought it. Then we rented a VW with a Fender audio system and realized what we were missing. Once we got back, the HK system seemed weak. It’s amazing how comparing can ruin your enjoyment, haha. I added a separate sub and now it sounds much better.

A friend has a Sorento with a Bose system and says his no-name factory audio system from his old Ford Fusion sounds better than the Bose. Pretty strange for Kia.

I love my Telluride. I could afford a BMW X7 and considered it, but after test driving one, I still prefer the Telluride for my family. More trunk space, better third row, and cheaper to keep. So far, I haven’t had any major issues. I did need a new AWD rear coupler, which seems to be a common issue, but that was covered under warranty. I have the fully loaded 2022 model.

It’s a pretty strong, feature-rich vehicle. I love the Telluride, but a part of me wishes we had thought about the EV9. It’s my wife’s car and she’s not sold on an EV, but I drive a Model 3 and it’s the perfect car for commuting and road trips.

In short, I love the Telluride, but I wish we had at least thought about the EV9. Just my thoughts

I really like mine! I just wish it would accelerate better.

I traded my Kia after 1.5 years. While it had lots of features, I encountered many recalls and annoying noises. Sitting in the back felt like I was on a bumpy road. My advice is to skip this model.

Yes. They were the only manufacturer to respond to Massachusetts’ law by disabling everything online. This affects anyone who buys one registered in Massachusetts. I’ve had my Telluride for two years and still can’t tow anything. The dealer experience has been horrible. This will be my first and last Kia.

I regretted my first Telluride (2020 S trim). I loved its look and feel, but it lacked some features that should have been included. I later traded it for a 2023 SXP, and now I’m absolutely in love with it. If it had wireless CarPlay, I would never want to change cars.

Kia is a very different company now compared to years ago. Those reliability issues are from older models and haven’t really shown up in the newer ones.

I really like mine. It’s a 2021, and we have three kids under three years old. We frequently drive to a family cottage. It has ample space, looks fantastic, and provides a smooth ride.

I have a 2020 model with 60,000 miles. I’ve had no problems other than my Kia Connect subscription expiring, which cut off my remote start.

I have a 2021, and it’s the same for me. I miss the remote start but won’t pay for the service.

I’m nearly a year into a three-year lease. If I had to decide tomorrow, I wouldn’t continue. I enjoy the car, and it works well (like gas pedal makes it move), but there are small things that bug me. I’m picky, so these are just personal annoyances and minor issues like poor interior lighting and the emergency brake being overly sensitive in reverse.

I don’t feel connected to the road like I would with a traditional setup. While I love the comfort of the ride, it’s hard to compare with my old Jeep GC which handled better. I don’t regret my decision, but after two years, I’ll check out other options.

I fully agree about the emergency brake and the keyless entry. Both are super annoying. The sound system isn’t great either. I’ve noticed some gaps in build quality in certain places.

Exactly! It’s starting to make me nervous about the future of this car.

@Ash
What trim level did you go with? I know some of the higher trims fix some of the issues?

I have the 2024 SX. The problems I listed are more so the characteristics of the car. Some side paneling is loose, but it’s nothing major.

The one thing I regret is my Telluride being a gas guzzler. I’m also regretting that we unexpectedly had a fifth kid after buying it. There’s limited cargo space when you can’t fold a seat down; it makes it difficult to drop friends and their luggage off at the airport.

I’d probably have gone for a full-size SUV otherwise.

@Bevan
If you think the Telluride is inefficient, imagine a Suburban.

I mean, sure that’s expected. To quote Frasier Crane, ‘If less is more, think about how much more more could be!’

I’d be fine with poor mileage for more space. But I really think a hybrid or PHEV option would be great for the Telluride.
