I’ve always heard about Kia cars having reliability issues and I know the Telluride is their best seller. I am considering buying one for my growing family. I would like to hear if any of you regret your purchase
I have a 2020 model with 92,000 miles. I would totally buy another one

I have a 2020 with 82k miles and I’m currently undergoing oil consumption testing. It uses a lot of oil, especially in the last 10k miles. The best part is the oil light never comes on even when it’s over 5 quarts low! This has happened two times, and I’m worried we might have ruined the engine. Hopefully the warranty will help. Besides that and a lot of recalls, it’s been a good car. I still think it’s the best in its class.
@Derry
I have a 2020 with 120k miles and share the same story. I had to add 5 quarts after rough shaking began around 80k miles. Since then, I have to constantly add oil. No oil light warning ever came on. This seems like a class action waiting to happen since I’m past the 100k warranty period.
@Derry
I have 45k miles on mine. I pulled a quart out during my last oil change. I thought I made a mistake with my oil extractor and accidentally pulled the oil plug. The oil was bone dry. No oil light! You would think with just one quart left, the oil light would come on, but nope!
@Clancy
Wow, I had the same thing happen. At around 60k miles, I noticed some rough engine sputtering. I decided to check the oil, and there was almost none left. No oil light or anything. What is going on here?
@Bin
This is a known issue across all their models. They had a class action lawsuit, but the Telluride was too new to be included.
@Derry
Burning oil at that mileage is not the best in class. That’s a big problem in cars sadly.
@Derry
That’s too bad! We had that issue with our Forester! I hope they fix it for you.
Fantastic car for the price you pay. Very good value.

My biggest problem with my Telluride is that I love it so much I don’t want to replace it with a Rivian R1S… but I really want a Rivian R1S… the Telluride is the best three-row SUV for a young family if you ask me.
@Caden
LOL, my husband also wants a Rivian and reminds me of it every day.

I’d give it a couple more years to work out their issues.

Is that like an upgrade from the Telluride? I’ve been checking them out too.
