Do you regret getting a Telluride

I went from a three-year lease on a Santa Fe to a used Telluride with 50k miles in May. Many features are similar, but I wasn’t a fan of the new Santa Fe style and it has zero trunk space with the third row
The Telluride offers more trunk space and lots of space for my kids. I do feel some shaking at 65mph and weirdness when driving over grass to gravel. But overall, I’m happy with it and it has great gas mileage. It fits my family of five perfectly with space left over.

Yes, they had a lot of issues. I’m not happy enough to buy it again. I have a 2022 S AWD with 96,000 miles, and I’ve had the transmission replaced once and experienced a few other minor issues.

I love it and would not get another one. I have a 2023 in my family.

We bought our 2022 EX AWD new and we love it. There is plenty of space for our tent, camping gear, and our big Bernese Mountain Dog. I definitely have NO regrets.

I have a 2021 with 43,000 miles. My husband loves the car while I like it enough. The recalls and updates have been tough because the closest dealer is two hours away. The dealership had a change in ownership, and the original owner was helpful, though this new one has not been. My biggest complaint is the headlights, which I feel are terrible when turning in dark areas; I can’t see if a person is walking or if a car is parked near the turn. I’d avoid buying such a far away car.

My mechanic has an early Telluride. I asked him about his experience, and he said he likes it. Based on fixing them, he said they can be hit or miss. He added that he’ll keep buying them until he gets a lemon.

I wish there was a turbo option.

No regrets yet. I only have about 2,000 miles.

My wife and I are leasing a 2022 Telluride. Our lease ends in a year. I think my biggest issue is the headlights; I feel they should be brighter. Other than that, we truly enjoy the vehicle.

I really like mine but my window trim got torn off at a car wash (I found out this has been a problem for other 2024 models). I’ve been waiting for over a month to get it replaced. I’ve owned it for about 9 months without that trim, but it’s a great drive.

I like it, but I got a check engine light during the first 2,500 miles on my 2024 model, which is an issue.

I have no regrets at all; this car is awesome.

No regrets here; it’s the best car I’ve ever owned.

You often hear the loud voices online. We bought ours because of the ratings, reliability, and the Consumer Reports selling points. There’s a reason it was the top-rated three-row midsize SUV for three years (I think the Highlander Hybrid just replaced it).

Dealing with recalls has been easy since all brands have some. I have no issues with my 2022 SX-P. I would definitely buy another.

@Ashton
We also did and recalls didn’t bother me until trim pieces started falling off. That should not occur on a vehicle costing over $50k.

I get it’s frustrating, but these things happen with many cars across brands.

I don’t enjoy dealing with recalls either, but Kia has been quick to recognize and resolve issues.

I previously owned a VW Atlas and had issues that weren’t even acknowledged by Corporate. The infotainment system would fail mid-drive, forcing me to pull over. The console would get so hot it could melt candy or lipstick. It should not happen with a $50k vehicle, but it did.

@Ashton
That’s true. They respond quickly to recalls, but it’s still frustrating to have to go into the dealership three times within a year (at least they handled two recalls at once).

I enjoy my 2024 SX X-Line a lot, even though it’s primarily my wife’s car. However, I notice the loose window trim is getting worse with colder weather, and the part is on backorder. Other users in this thread mentioned their trim has come off multiple times, which is absurd. At least I’m leasing, or I would feel much worse.

I was also annoyed that I didn’t get wireless Apple CarPlay.

@Cleo
That trim problem with it being on backorder would definitely bug me too. I’m glad your 2022 doesn’t seem to have the same cosmetic issues. I appreciate the features I have now. :grimacing:

And I agree about appointments being annoying. It’s hard enough to schedule regular maintenance these days, let alone for recalls.

@Ashton
Thanks! I’m glad you haven’t faced these problems. It seems mostly the 2024 models are having these issues. Enjoy your Telluride and drive safely!

No regrets!
