I don’t own a Telluride yet, but if I end up getting one, it’ll be my first Kia. I’m sure many others here were in a similar position before buying theirs. Since I don’t have any brand loyalty to Kia, I’ve also considered the Hyundai Palisade. For those who have been in my situation, why did you choose the Telluride in the end? Are Kia vehicles higher quality?
“Just for the appearance”
“I felt the same way. I expected the Telluride to have a tougher exterior and a more seamless interior design. Plus, I read numerous reviews where the Telluride consistently ranked higher than the Palisade. The combination of ratings and appearance made the choice simple for me.”
“Honestly, I never seriously considered the Palisade because of its design—it gives off more of a Buick or Lincoln vibe. On the technical side, the Telluride offers power fold-in mirrors (depending on the trim), while the Palisade has power-folding third-row seats, at least for the 2024 model. I’d choose the power-folding mirrors any day.”
“I wasn’t a fan of the gear shift buttons on the Palisade.”
“They’re basically the same vehicle, but the Palisade’s grille is awful. When I was shopping for a used car, there were more Palisades available in my area at lower prices and with slightly fewer miles. However, I just couldn’t imagine seeing that massive chrome monstrosity on the front every time I got in the car.”
“The new Kia logo has a sleeker look compared to Hyundai’s, and it’s easy to black out the front logo thanks to its flat design. There’s also supposedly a bit more room inside. For the most part, they feel almost identical. And one last thing—Kia is slightly more affordable.”
