Test drive different SUVs… like the Pilot, CX-90, Highlander, and compare handling and features. Also, bring a friend or family member to check passenger comfort in the back since body roll can cause motion sickness.
I own a 2024 SX-prestige X-Pro with 6k miles. No issues. It’s a fantastic vehicle. I switched from a BMW X line.
Definitely not an investment, but a great value buy.
I have a 2021 SX-P with about 50k miles, bought new at the end of 2020. If you’d asked me ten years ago, I’d have said I’d never own a Kia! But this one is really great.
There’s been zero problems. It easily pulls my 16.5 ft fishing boat around Minnesota and Michigan, loaded with my family. The local dealer has been very accommodating and I rarely wait long for appointments.
I use it often in snow mode, which helps with traction. Just changed the tires (which were new) at about 48k miles. Not too bad from my view.
My only complaint is that they don’t make an extended cab version… which I’d love to see!
I’m on my second Telluride: a 2021 and a 2024. I’ve had no issues with either one. I see a lot of horror stories on other forums, but those must be exceptions because my experience has been great.
I’ve had my 2024 for 2 months, 5k miles, and still love it with zero issues.
To add, I’ve owned three Kias totaling 600k miles and have faced zero issues.
I have a 2023 EX X-Line with 14,564 miles. No issues and I really love the car!
While I enjoy driving it, I’m selling it due to quality control issues, brake problems, and poor dealership service, but I want a lower interest rate first.
I own a 2024 SXP XPro with 800 miles. We love it and the kids do too. We drove from KC to STL for Christmas and had a great time on the highway. I wish the gas tank was a bit larger, but that’s not a big deal.
I love my 2024 SX. After 6 months, I still enjoy driving it every time.
I’ve had three Sorentos (2015 S, 2019 S, 2021 EX), mainly due to leasing and driving them a lot. I just got a 2023 SX Prestige Telluride in January, and it’s been fantastic.
I usually change my oil a bit earlier, around 4,500 to 5k miles, while some say it’s fine to do it at 7k.
I suggest you do it sooner. Oil is cheaper than a new engine. Get some 80k mile 140mph rated tires too. They last longer. I’ve had too many stock Kia tires pop on me too soon. I personally use Royal Purple oil, and it’s been great so far.
- 2015 = 101k miles
- 2019 = 99k miles
- 2021 = 52k miles
- 2023 Telluride = 22k miles so far.

I love my 2021 Telluride. You really can’t go wrong with it. The only drawback is its towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. I just bought a travel trailer, so I’m considering selling or trading in my Telluride that I waited 6 months for. Here’s some details if you’re interested:

I have a 2022 SXP with 5000 miles and no significant issues other than a few minor squeaks that have settled down.
I’m at 81K on a 2020 AWD in Ohio and it’s running as strong as ever. I’ve changed the tires once and the transmission fluid once, and I keep up with regular maintenance.
We bought a 2020 SX late in 2019. I was very hesitant about getting a first-year model. It now has 50k miles and has been amazing. Three friends and neighbors purchased Tellurides because of ours. We had a few small interior trim issues fixed under warranty, and everything went well except for scheduling. The local dealer usually books a month out. However, they offer a great solution: dropping off the car on Saturday morning guarantees they’ll get to it by the day’s end. This has worked well for us, so check with your dealer if they have a similar option. I would buy another one in a heartbeat! The captain’s chairs in the second and third rows have been fantastic for the kids. My kids are involved in swim classes, so leather seats are essential. They get wet every day, but the leather still looks pristine. Great job, Kia!

Quick question - do the Tellurides come with a heads-up display on the windshield?
I loved my Kia Telluride LX. I got it in April 2020 just before the pandemic hit. For months, I was the only Telluride on the road. I didn’t see another one until October 2020. The older models came loaded with features now only available on higher trims. I loved that car. After three amazing years and 110,000 miles, my Tellie started burning oil unusually fast. Fuel economy dropped from 28 mpg to 14. During cold starts, I could hear the timing chain rattle until the oil circulated. I kept it in great shape since I traveled frequently for work. But when I asked to change the oil, only 1-2 quarts drained. No warnings or alerts, not even blue smoke upon acceleration or startup. My mechanic found sludge on the oil cap too. He advised me to sell it before the engine completely fails. There have been many reports about Lambda engines in Tellurides and Palisades consuming excessive oil. Kia and Hyundai dismiss it as normal, but burning through 4-5 quarts between regular oil changes isn’t normal. Keep an eye on your engine. Check the dipstick weekly when cold. If you notice odd sounds, rattling, or reduced fuel efficiency, use your warranty for inspections. If it’s burning oil, get a new engine.
