Looking for advice—should I go with the EX or the SX?

I’m very specific about the exterior and interior colors I want. I’ve found two options in my state, and now I’m torn between paying an extra $3,000 for the SX or going with the EX. Besides the additional sunroof and wheels, is there a significant difference between the two models?

For context, the EX I’m considering already has a tow hitch and running boards, which are nice extras but not essential.

Is there anything else I should consider? Is the $3,000 difference for the SX worth it?

Interior: The SX features a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, memory settings for the driver’s seat and side mirrors, and second-row captain’s chairs as standard.

Exterior: The SX comes with 20-inch alloy sport wheels, a surround-view monitor, and a blind-view monitor.

Technology: The SX includes an advanced collision-avoidance system with evasive steering assist, a more advanced adaptive cruise control system, and a 12.3-inch instrument display.

Audio: The SX has a Harman/Kardon 10-speaker audio system.

Sunroof: The SX offers dual sunroofs with front tilt-slide functionality.

Lighting: The SX features LED interior lighting.

I bought a new 2021 EX, drove it for 30,000 miles, traded it in for a 2023 SX, and I’m absolutely thrilled with the upgrade and glad I made the switch.

In my opinion, the SX trim offers the best value if you don’t need all the extra features. However, if you want more advanced features, the EX is the best choice. All the trims are quite nice, but if I were opting for more options, I’d go with the EX. It ultimately comes down to personal preference.

Consider the small features, such as the SX model having rain-sensing wipers, which may not be available on the EX. Pay attention to these minor luxuries to see if they influence your decision. Major aspects like towing capacity are likely similar across models.
