It’s striking how the S trim cars seem to be worth $10,000 less than the higher trims with fully black rims. Is this intentional to push buyers toward the pricier options?
They don’t compel anyone; it’s simply about personal choice.
Yes, absolutely. There are entire teams dedicated to analyzing trim options and pricing based on sales data, competitor analysis, surveys, and more. I’d be surprised if any car company doesn’t engage in that.
I think my '23 SX looks less premium because of the rims with that “fang” design. When I ordered, it was supposed to come with all-black rims since it’s the top trim level, but I got a call saying that changed (I think it was switched to SX Sport) and I lost the black rims. Overall, I’m a bit disappointed with the '23 lineup, especially with the lack of amber lights and other features. It feels like a strange transition year for the Telluride.
I’d like to see more non-black wheel options. I’m fine with a combination of black and aluminum, like on the SX, but all-black wheels feel overdone to me.
