Disabling coffee break alert in Kia Telluride

If my Telluride suggests a coffee break again, I’ll be tempted to drive it into the ocean. How can I disable that feature?

In my two years of driving, I’ve never had this notification show up. It sounds like your Telluride is implying you’re not driving well.

This alert only shows up if you’re driving poorly.

I’ve encountered it just twice: both times were when I was testing how long it would keep beeping with my hands off the wheel during Highway Driving Assist right after I bought it. In both cases, I did it several times in a row before the coffee break suggestion appeared.

In short: It’s on you. Maybe try getting some rest or consider taking driving lessons.

It pops up for me sometimes, usually on rough roads when I’m dodging bumps or if I’m distracted and drift a bit. Using the turn signal, even if someone is in my blind spot, doesn’t trigger it for me.

All these folks suggesting you need a break must live in places without potholes. My wife’s car does the same thing to me on a short 15-minute drive, though I feel it happens less than with her old Seltos. I really need to disable the forward collision avoidance, as it’s slammed the brakes twice now because someone was turning in front of me with plenty of room.

I don’t think it’s always about bad driving. I’ve seen it pop up a few times when I knew I was driving tired. However, it’s also shown up when I’ve driven over really bumpy roads. It factors in lane markers but doesn’t account for road conditions, making it overly sensitive.
