Hey everyone, I recently bought a 2024 Kia Telluride SX X-Line and love it. I opted for the extended warranty, mainly because the finance manager made me nervous about the electronics only being covered for 3 years/36k miles. He warned that by year 4, the infotainment system could fail, costing $12k to replace. I paid $4,219 for a 10-year bumper-to-bumper warranty but am now second-guessing it, considering how bad extended warranties can be. Has anyone else gotten the extended warranty? Any issues with electronics? Would love to hear your experiences.
Cancel the warranty. Once you get a refund, purchase it elsewhere for half the price.
Check out Kia of Munice. It was about $2,200 for a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty.
Extended warranties are, by nature, a bad gamble. Those companies wouldn’t survive if customers were statistically benefiting. It also seems like you may have overpaid—check online for warranty prices at Kia of Muncie.
A warranty is only as reliable as the service from your local dealer. I’ve been trying to resolve some minor warranty issues for the past five months, and the service has been terrible. They’ve lied to me, claiming parts were ordered back in May and again in early August. Most Kia dealers are really disappointing. I doubt I will purchase another Kia after this experience.
