I’m considering purchasing my first Telluride. Any opinions? The maintenance and 10-year warranty seem a bit expensive, though I might skip them. The price also factors in a trade-in for my 2013 Acura MDX. Appreciate any advice!
Contact Kia of Muncie to find out what their warranty offer is. Then, ask your dealer to match it, or let them know you’ll go with Muncie instead.
As for Permaplate and door guards, they’re unnecessary extras. Ask the dealer to remove them.
I’d remove the Permaplate, warranty, and edge guards, then ask for a new price. After that, get quotes from one or two other dealers to compare and see if the offer is competitive.
If the salesperson tries to rush you by saying you might miss the deal, just remind them that there will be another deal next week, and another one after that — which is true.
“$400 for door edge guards? That’s a lot!”
“Why get an additional warranty when the standard one is already quite long?”
Remove the Perma Plate and avoid trading in your vehicle. Although they offer an “allowance,” it’s legally supposed to be a separate transaction. They’re trying to take your trade and gradually add the “allowance” back into the total. Get an out-the-door price without including the trade; it should be at or below $51k, especially since they’re eager to move the 2024 models to make room for the 2025s arriving at the lot.
