Looking for honest reviews from Telluride owners

Hey everyone, I’m glad to be here. My wife and I just bought a 2024 X-Line today, and we absolutely love it. We’ll pick it up tomorrow, and so far, there’s no buyers remorse.

That said, I understand that all brands and cars have their issues, some more than others. I’d appreciate your honest feedback on your Telluride experiences. What do you love? What do you dislike? How’s the dealer service? What about the reliability of the warranty? Any common issues we should watch for?

I enjoy reading posts in the ranting sections, but I know they represent a small number compared to total sales. I hope we don’t fall into that category, so I’m looking for feedback from both happy and unhappy owners.

Thanks, everyone!

The trim pieces tend to be a weak point. My main issue has been with dealer service, which has been really poor.

I totally agree. We decided to lease and wanted no extras, like tire/rim protection for $1500 or dent protection for $900, but we ended up waiting at the dealership for 4 long hours with our kids. They were so slow. We asked for no extras to be on the lease, yet the finance guy rushed through the process and mentioned that the manager wanted to add tire/rim/dent protection as a goodwill gesture since we came in instead of the competition. We thought that was great until I read the lease and found a $2400 charge for those protections. I was furious! I called the dealership, and he claimed I misunderstood him. I told him he was just taking advantage of us being tired after waiting so long. He is now reversing that part of the deal and redoing the paperwork, but I won’t be giving them any more of my business. They were very sneaky about it.

I’m really enjoying my 2024 X-Pro. The ride is so smooth that I often find myself going 104 mph, thinking I’m doing 70!

Haha, I had the same experience on my first road trip! I looked down and realized I was at 101.

You should also post in the other forums, like the Palisade, Pilot, and Grand Highlander forums, for a broader view. Most of us here really love our Tellurides.

I’m on my second Telluride now. I had a 2020 LX base model that came with so many features that you really don’t need a top model. Fast forward to 2024, we traded up to the 2024 EX X-Line, and I could not be happier! It has so many features. I kind of wish I’d gone for the SX Pro, but I’m taking small steps. Who knows what the future holds? This will probably be my ride for a long time.

I have a 2020 SX and love it overall, but it does have some problems. I’ve had about 9 recalls, including trailer wiring that took almost 7 months for parts, software updates, front driveshafts, wheel sensors, and new issues with the seats. Just recently, my right rear shock blew and had to be replaced. The head unit had to be swapped out because of a satellite signal issue, which wasn’t covered under warranty. The dealer helped by covering the head unit’s cost, but I still had to pay for installation. I’m okay with that because it shouldn’t happen, but overall, it’s a great family car with lots of space, even if the transmission could shift better. I’m now at 57,000 miles, do my oil changes myself, and have had the dealer service the transmission and brake fluids for regular maintenance. I’m happy and would get a new one if anything happened.

I have a 2023 X-Line. It has all the great features you’d expect for a mid-tier vehicle, and for how powerful the engine is, the MPG isn’t bad, better than my old Cherokee. My only complaint is that I wish the third row had better lighting, but that’s just being picky. I think the cost is worth it for such a nice family vehicle. If you’re trying to save money, a van might be a better choice.

I live in CT and I love my 2024 Telluride. I got it last October and have driven 11k miles so far. I’ve had two recalls that were taken care of during my oil change at a really nice dealership. They finished earlier than promised. I was a bit skeptical about getting a Korean car since I had always driven Japanese cars, but so far, everything is going great.

Which dealership did you get it from?

Executive Kia in Wallingford, CT.

I have the SX model and absolutely love it.

I’ve had my 2024 SXP X-Line for just over a year, and I’m really happy with it. Nothing has come off, and I’ve had around 3-4 recalls, but they handled everything perfectly at my local dealer. No buyers remorse at all.

I drive a 2021 SXP and still love my vehicle.

I own the 2022 S model with AWD and have 85k miles. The only issue has been a front passenger CV axle which was covered under warranty. The reverse lights apparently don’t work, but I can’t tell how long that’s been an issue since it’s my wife’s daily.

I had a delay with the tow hitch and had to go with an aftermarket option. The ride feels a bit rougher than when I first got it, but maybe I’m just imagining it. Other than that, I really love the car.

@Briley
How was that experience? I need one but haven’t gotten it yet. Spending over $1000 for a tow hitch is a lot. Part of me wants to do it myself, but I’d rather not risk it. I wish they designed the car to make installing hitches easier.

@Carson
It seemed to work fine. I got mine from a local place that specializes in hitches. I think I might’ve gotten the wrong one for towing larger items since I’ve only used it for a rack and I think I need a bigger connection (7 or 9 pin could be more suitable). So far I’ve just put a little rack for coolers on it.

@Briley
That’s good to know. I think I just need the 5 pin, but it might be worth considering a bigger one with an adapter.
