Is the Kia Telluride worth it?

I’m considering the Kia Telluride but I’m torn between it, the Hyundai Palisade, and the Toyota Prado. Is the Telluride as good as people say? What’s Kia’s resale value and service like? Are parts expensive?

My family are big Toyota and Lexus fans and they’re pressuring me to go with Toyota even if it means waiting a long time for delivery.

I’d love honest feedback—especially if anyone here has bought a Telluride and regretted it. What are the cons? Is it similar to the Hyundai Palisade?

I’d appreciate any thoughts or advice.

I have a 2022 SXP and love it. I come from a family loyal to Acura, Honda, and Lexus. The Telluride doesn’t feel like a luxury vehicle, especially during the dealership experience, which was subpar. But the ride is smooth, it looks great, and I’ve had no issues so far. Plus, strangers often compliment it.

@Barrett
The dealership experience can really vary. I’ve shopped at 10 different places recently and found Kia to be the worst. That’s concerning if you’ll need to deal with them for servicing or warranty issues.

@Barrett
Interestingly, my experience at Kia was great. The second dealership I visited was amazing—better than my recent visit to Audi. I think it just depends on the specific dealership.

I’ve got a 2023 SXP X-Line, and I absolutely love it. It’s the smoothest and quietest car I’ve owned. The MPG could be better, but it’s about what I expected. The digital key can be a bit finicky, though. I had to wait three weeks for mine to be delivered, but the process was smooth.

@Clovis
It’s frustrating that the mechanical key isn’t built into the fob. Seems like an oversight.

We’ve got a 2023 S AWD with about 7,000 miles. Loving it so far. The cons are minor, like the backup camera getting dirty easily, sensitive driver warnings, and slightly floaty handling on highways. Overall, it’s a great family car.

@Afton
My partner can’t stand the sensitive sensors. He starts yelling at the car every time it happens.

I love my 2022 Telluride. It’s quiet, smooth, and packed with great tech. My only complaints are the MPG and the 5,000-pound towing capacity. The side mirror camera is also a bit sluggish when turning on the blinker, but it’s not a dealbreaker.

I have a 2020 EX and still love it. I test-drove the Palisade and found it very similar. A friend insists the Palisade has more room in the third row, but I haven’t noticed much difference.

I’ve owned many vehicles, including Asian luxury cars, and the Telluride’s fit and finish are comparable. It feels like a $70k car but at a much lower price. I have the SX-P and have almost no complaints after two years.

Great car overall, but there are some winter driving issues like ice buildup on the windshield. The towing situation is frustrating because there’s no wiring harness solution right now, making it unusable for towing.

I love my SXP XPro. The only downsides are no wireless CarPlay, the phone-as-key isn’t practical, and city fuel efficiency could be better. Otherwise, it’s a fantastic SUV.

I had a 2021 SX Nightfall and loved it. The only issues were a failed alternator and some electrical problems, which were covered under warranty. It’s one of the best vehicles I’ve owned.

I have a 2023 AWD S and enjoy driving it. The towing situation is a disappointment, though, as I was planning to get a boat. Fuel efficiency is also lower than expected at 21 MPG.
