We recently purchased a 2022 Telluride, and I’m not a fan of the adaptive cruise control that slows the vehicle when it gets too close to the car ahead.
I read that you can temporarily disable it by holding down the button that adjusts the following distance, but when I try this, nothing happens—I can’t turn it off.
Press the menu button on your right thumb on the steering wheel, then click OK. This should display all the safety options on the main screen, where you can uncheck the ones you want to turn off.
You can turn it off, but it’s enabled by default, similar to the auto stop-start feature. You’ll need to deactivate it each time you restart the car. I’ve gotten used to it since I often forgot to turn it off, and now I actually prefer it, especially in construction zones. I’ve set it to the closest distance between me and the car ahead.
